Discover One Kinda Folk: Dublin's Hidden Café Gem

Nestled in the heart of Dublin at 126 Leeson Street Upper, One Kinda Folk is more than just a café; it's a cozy haven where culinary delights and charming ambiance converge. This delightful spot invites you to unwind with its eclectic decor, featuring vintage plates and glasses that add a unique charm to the atmosphere. Whether you're seeking a quiet place to sip your coffee or a bustling venue filled with life, One Kinda Folk has a little something for everyone.

This café prides itself on its artisanal approach to food and beverage, specializing in exceptional coffee and an array of delectable pastries. Customers rave about their flat whites—crafted to perfection, silky and rich in flavor, making every sip a moment of joy. Pat the craving for a sweet treat with their famous Basque cheesecake or the irresistibly moist chocolate banana bread, both of which have gained a loyal following among the regulars.

Don't overlook the savory offerings! According to Sebastian Cruz, the focaccias and lunch sandwiches are a must-try; customers can enjoy these either in generous sandwich format or by the slice, making them perfect for a quick yet satisfying meal. The gigantic almond croissant paired with a smooth latte, as relished by Donald Piccione, is another favorite breakfast choice, showcasing the café's commitment to quality ingredients and delicious flavors.

But what truly sets One Kinda Folk apart is the welcoming vibe and friendly service. Karolina Warciak highlighted the extraordinary hospitality, noting how the staff exudes warmth and efficiency, turning a simple coffee run into a delightful experience. On a busy day, you can feel the energy in the air; yet, the personable service never falters, making each customer feel special. The staff’s dedication to creating a positive environment—the gent with the long dark hair and headband particularly known for his infectious smile—is part of what keeps patrons returning.

If you're looking for a break from the hustle and bustle, this petite café also offers benches outside, where you can enjoy your pastry and coffee while soaking in the Dublin atmosphere. Sukalpa Sarkar, a regular, can't get enough of their matcha, especially when sweetened with the delightful lavender syrup—an ideal fusion of refreshing flavor that provides that perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

In a city as vibrant as Dublin, One Kinda Folk stands out with its unique offerings and genuine warmth. Whether you're local or just passing through, this café promises an experience that tantalizes your taste buds and warms your heart. Hidden gem. I love the interior and the vintage plates and glasses used. Staff is friendly and service is very efficient. Coffee- flat white was spot on! Pastries were delicious. We tried the basque cheesecake and chocolate banana bread- both were delicious! The sausage rolls and sandwiches/ focaccias looked amazing- can’t wait to try next time!

The cutest little cafe, perfect to grab a pastry and coffee and sit in (or take it to go!!!). When I visited I got the sausage roll (AMAZING and HUGE) with an iced latte and sat right at their front bar. The man working there when I visited (long dark hair, in a headband) was so lovely, he had such a warm positive energy and clearly loves his job. He greeted every single customer with a smile!! I’m from out of the country just visiting but I would highly recommend this place.

Always visit here for the matcha. Their lavender syrup is amazing. Its busy in the first half but the staff is still super friendly and nice. Love the vibes. Can vouch for the matcha! Pastries are fresh and nice as well. They have benches outside. Its a small space wish they had more capacity.

The focaccia they make for lunch are great! Either in sandwich format or by slice. Cakes and pastries are also very good!

Great place for breakfast. I got regular latte and a gigantic almond croissant. All very good. Service is quick despite I was among other 5 people who ordered a coffee to go. Easy to pay with contactless or card. There are seats inside but I didn't seat. Staff at the counter was very friendly.

Love this amazing cafe. They make amazing Blue Matcha Latte and Green Matcha. Made with Oat milk, two sizes and you are sorted for a while. Their coffee is really tasty too, although I only have it if I have some food. If you need a quick breakfast their Chia Oats are the way to go, so yummy! Cheesecake without crust is a way to go! Had a bite of almond croissant and I must say.. good job baking it! Some day I will try some of the great looking focaccias. Keep it up guys, this works well so please don’t change, most likely remove anything from your menu!

Their matcha lattes and coffees are gorgeous! Had some banana bread with my matcha and it was simply lovely. Scones are lovely too. Their focaccia and sandwiches look delicious and so do many of their treats. Definitely recommend coming here to do some work or meet a friend. And the staff are just delightful

The queue outside the door speaks for itself. Coffee is mega, fresh baked goods (baked on the premises), and brilliant and friendly service from the baristas. The overnight oats were delicious. A great local spot. Highly recommend it if you are in the area.
